The art teacher's children

Often people say to Freya and Fin "Oh it must be great having your mum", high and undeserved praise, as I am usually not full of creative fun after a day/week at work. Today though, I was inspired and we have done our own family flip switch books. I think you could use this in many situations, team building at work?

  1. I have a similar response from folk towards my 5 year old daughter! I'm an art teacher (secondary education)and her friends always ask to come and play so that they can paint and stick and cut and glitter... it makes me really sad when I realise a lot of them don't get to do this stuff at home. But I aslo totally relate to that feeling of being zapped, sometimes I feel that I spend all day 'giving' to people, so much that by the time I get home there is nothing left. I love the book idea... I spy hours of fun ahead! Happy half term...

  5. Can you share a bit of guidance on how to assemble this kind of book? Is it stitched, folded, glued?

    1. I am trying to remember, but I just made a basic book and either stapled or stitched it together before cutting into sections.

    1. I don't know what this type of book is called Joy, I think as a project I would call it putting yourself in the picture, I always get great results when I get children to use their own image as part of an illustration or creative project.
